Configuration
You can alter Katla’s behaviour by setting the DIP switches on the back. By default they are switched off.

|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | OPTIONS: MIDI Input Mode | Standard MIDI | MPE |
| 2 | OPTIONS: MIDI Output Mode | MIDI MPE Output | MIDI Thru |
| 3 | Round-Robin Reset | Free | Reset |
| 4 | Unison Grace Period | Off | On |

| 7 | Global Detune | Detune | Pitch Drift |
| 8 | External In Level | Line | Instrument |
1. OPTIONS: MIDI Input Mode
Section titled “1. OPTIONS: MIDI Input Mode”MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression) lets each note have independent pitch bend, timbre, and aftertouch by assigning it its own MIDI channel. When this switch is enabled, the MIDI input DIP switches change behavior. See MPE and MIDI for the full reference.
2. OPTIONS: MIDI Output Mode
Section titled “2. OPTIONS: MIDI Output Mode”In firmware 0.3.0, this selects between MIDI MPE Output and MIDI Thru when MPE is enabled. In MIDI MPE Output mode, Katla sends each voice on its own dedicated MIDI channel plus a global master channel. In MIDI Thru mode, Katla passes incoming MIDI messages directly to MIDI output.
3. Round-Robin Reset
Section titled “3. Round-Robin Reset”Set how Katla selects voices when operating in Round-Robin mode. By default, Katla will always continue from the last-used voice when selecting a voice When enabled, Round Robin Reset returns the voice selection to voice 1 each time all held keys are released. The next incoming note always starts from voice
4. Unison Grace Period
Section titled “4. Unison Grace Period”When in unison mode, all voices are allocated to a note. This means that when releasing a chord, one note will naturally linger slightly longer than the others, causing all voices to collapse onto that note and produce a monophonic release phase. When Unison Grace Period is enabled, a slight timing offset is introduced, allowing Katla to smoothly fade out.
5. MOD Wheel Destination
Section titled “5. MOD Wheel Destination”Katla introduces a variety of Katla Parameters and opens the filter cutoff. The Pitch LFO position routes the LFO to the pitch of each voice.
6. LFO Retrigger
Section titled “6. LFO Retrigger”When enabled, the LFO will reset with each key-press.
7. Global Detune
Section titled “7. Global Detune”Set the behavior of the detune trim pot located next to the DIP switches Set to detune, rotating the trim pot to detune all voices uniformly. When set to Pitch Drift, turning the trim pot counter clockwise affects Katla’s tracking accuracy. Turning the trim pot clockwise detunes all voices globally.
8. External In Level
Section titled “8. External In Level”Choose between Line/Modular or Instrument (+17db)
